We have measured the effectiveness of Drummond Street’s services since 2016. Drummond Street is a community services organisation, spread across 8 sites in Victoria, Australia and provides wellbeing support across a breadth of services. This includes specialist support for LGBTIQA+ communities (e.g. Queerspace, QHub, the QSpace Network, Pride in Place), young people (e.g. The Drum), step and blended families (Step Families Australia).
Our evaluations have measured changes in mental health and well-being for clients across various program types.
This extensive data collection has allowed us to generate meaningful insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of services at Drummond Street and advocate for community needs.
We capture the impact of their services on the mental health and well-being of clients utilising a mixed method approach. Our unique position within Drummond Street allows us to maintain close relationships with the teams and gain a deep understanding of their work and its impact. This proximity enables us to see firsthand the effects of these services on individuals and community needs.
Over time, we have developed strategies to increase quantitative collection rates and draw valuable qualitative insights. This enables us to provide skilled consultancy, where we assist other organisations in evaluating their services with realistic support grounded in extensive, on the ground experience.
