Hemei Fong joined CFRE in mid-2021 as a Research Officer. Since 2016, her work in Victoria and the Northern Territory has covered gendered harm in Victoria Police, LGBTIQ+ rights in sport and employment, sexual assault prevention, access to community legal services, disability discrimination in schools and workplaces, financial relief for businesses impacted by COVID-19, and support programs for innovation and start-ups.
Hemei has served on the boards of Proud 2 Play and the Minus18 Foundation, and remains a board director with Dawn House, a domestic violence service provider in Darwin. She is also a community peer reviewer for the research journal Autism in Adulthood.
Hemei holds a Bachelor of Arts (History/Indonesian) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies from La Trobe University, a Graduate Certificate of Science (Astronomy) from Swinburne University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Criminal Justice from RMIT University.
